Our dining area: picking out the lighting was one of the bigger perks of a custom build.
And that table? Overstock.com! Really!
My place for my favorite dishes, which reminds me: I need to use these more.
I’m pretty sure this wreath is St. Patrick’s decor, but it totally fit my color scheme.
I made the curtains, which was a pretty huge project. I looked for a long time for the right blue fabric for the ties, but could never find anything. I decided to use leftover fabric from my bedroom curtains, and I ended up liking it.
We eat 2 meals a day at this breakfast bar. I love being able to work in the kitchen, but still be right with my kids sitting up at the bar.
My blue island with a butcher block counter. I cut on my butcher block constantly.
My farmhouse sink. The pink-bottle is my degreaser and the blue-bottle is my stainless steel and granite cleaner. All made from Shaklee’s Basic H2 – found here. The dish soap is by Shaklee too. I used a 3M hook for my dish towel.
This corner is where all the baking magic happens.
My step-stool and little helpers chair.
I’m not a fan of a cluttered fridge-front (or interior!), so I made a magnet board. This is where I keep a calendar, menu, grocery list, and there is even a little room for extras – like pictures of my new nephew.
I’m not too perfectionist about filling clear-front cabinets. I put my prettier stuff in there, but I figure it fits the eclectic/ shabby chic look if it isn’t exactly perfect. And if I’m wrong, please let me live in denial.
And yes, having the water-spout above the stove top is awesome. The five burner stove top sure comes in handy during large meals! And I can remember vividly the day I found the tiles for that mosaic … I was on cloud 9!
My double oven. I use this all.the.time. All the time!
The tops of my cabinets. I had fun playing around with different colors, shades, shapes, and textures.
And my pantry. Love the size!
And right across from the pantry and next to my kitchen … my desk! And if you are a fan of The Piano Guys, you may recognize that musician.
My little organizer was helping me take these pictures. When done, she asked “Do you want me to organize this cabinet now?” Of course!
There you have it. My kitchen – for real. The most used room in the house! The next tour will be my garage. Excited?? Ha!

I love your kitchen, Mary!!! I have been eyeing those canned goods racks/organizers that you have in your pantry, but have not had the guts to take the plunge because I wasn’t sure if they really worked. Do you love them???
Love them? I’ve used them for about 5 years now and haven’t gotten rid of them yet, which I guess is my version of love! LOL! They are not perfect, but they do the job and make the pantry way more organized. I found them on Amazon for super cheap, so it isn’t that much of a plunge if you want to give them a try.
your home is beautiful. i wish ours could look that nice.
What an amazing kitchen!!!! I’m in love with everything in it! I hope one day to have a kitchen like this. I’m about to start organizing my house, one room a week so I don’t get overwhelmed, looking forward to getting tips from your blog. :)
i love your blue island. your curtains look great too. if i ever get around to adding some color to my house i’ll be calling for the names in your color scheme.
Hello Mary,
I heart those spray bottles that you have around your sink. Where did you find them?
I found those spray bottles at Walmart, in the dollar travel-size stuff section.
Um… I’m on cloud nine looking at the pictures of your kitchen! I will pray that when my kitchen grows up it will be just like yours.
Love this post. Where did you get the polka dot plate that is above your cabinets?
Love the kitchen!! Where did you get the rug by the table?? It would match my new kitchen(when we finish building) perfectly!
Your kitchen is an inspiration! Beautiful! I adore the framed mosaic look over the cooktop! I also love the blue butcher block island!!
Your kitchen is perfection! Love everything about it!
I love your desk chair cover. Maybe I can find one for mine since it is boring looking right now!
What a lovely kitchen, I just adore the blue island bench. I have inherited a very modern kitchen (from previous owner) but live in an old little cottage so I plan to do a mini makeover on my kitchen changing the benchtops from formica to a lovely soft beige granite and replacing the doors with solid tounge and groove in white.
I hopped over from The Shabby Creek Cottage. Kitchens seem to be popular posts, I have just featured a fabulous Farmhouse Kitchen makeover and had more hits in 3 days than on any other post!
Lee ☺
